Big Data – 2012
Big Data is the new buzz word. With the help of data analytics, valuable insights can now be uncovered and businesses, governments and individuals can make better informed decisions through data. Today, data engineers manage and mine data, analysts analyse them for opportunities and graphic designers create beautiful visualizations for them. It is time we as designers step up, use Big Data, and translate it into better design decisions.
In this workshop, we seek to investigate Big Data and its possibilities. Using a set of specially designed thinking tools and methods, we will explore ways to use Data for design. The workshop will take on an approach of using current existing data as well as discovering potential data that is new and fresh. We also aim to expose participants to this new trend and to share new design thinking methods through this workshop.
