The DIC Prototyping Lab was set up with the aim of improving the design process. By bridging the gap between the digital world and the physical world, the prototyping lab has enabled us to effectively translate ideas from CAD data to lifesize prototypes for testing and evaluation. This results in faster iterations of prototypes for a more fluid and robust design process.
Leveraging on these facilities, we aim to work closely with the industry to explore new possibilities in design, fabrication and manufacturing. We aim to develop new
capabilities through the process of collaboration and research development as well as engage the industry and expand our scope of research in areas of architecture, automotive, medical, entertainment, marine and aerospace design.
The lab is support by a team of CADCAM specialists, model makers and a team of designers and engineers from DIC.
